I was born on a kibbutz near the Lebanese border (Sasa, formerly Sa'asa, a Palestinian village) and lived there until I was seven. My parents then left for Montreal, their place of birth, and I returned to Jerusalem at age 18 to do a BA and MA in English Literature. After
five years of studies I moved back to Canada, where I completed an MA
and PhD in Jewish Studies at McGill, in Biblical Exegesis, and an MA in
Creative Writing at Concordia University. I taught for two decades
(Holocaust Studies, Hebrew Literature and Biblical Exegesis at McGill,
Creative Writing at Concordia University, and English Literature at
John Abbott College). My three most recent novels are the
"Pauline btw" series, written for young readers and old parents. The Saver, for older teen readers
and adults, will be published this coming fall, along with my new novel
for adults, Your Sad Eyes and
Unforgettable Mouth. I will be reading at the Atwater Library in
Montreal on April 8. I
have a daughter, Larissa, who is twenty, and we now live in Guelph,
Ontario. Fiction by EdeetWinner of the Norma Epstein National Fiction Award Finalist for Governor General's Award; finalist for Koret
